Ann Degenshein is the President of BD Compliance Partners, Inc. Ms. Degenshein has over twenty years of compliance experience in the securities industry. She began her career with NASD Regulation in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1984, and progressed through the ranks to Field Supervisor. During her tenure with the NASD (now FINRA), Ms. Degenshein examined every type of Broker/Dealer from small boutiques to large regional clearing firms. She also examined money center firms in New York and worked on special fraud cases in conjunction with the NASD’s Enforcement Department.

Ms. Degenshein left the NASD in 1997 to become Vice President of Compliance for Ascend Financial Services, Inc., the Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor affiliate of Minnesota Life Insurance Company in St. Paul, Minnesota. At Ascend, she developed and implemented regulatory policies and procedures for the Broker/Dealer and expanded the branch audit program. Other unique areas of responsibility included assisting in the transition from commission-based transactions to fee-based business and developing policies and procedures for promoting uniform compliance practices between the Broker/Dealer and the Insurance Company affiliate.

In 1998, Ms. Degenshein started her own consulting business in the Twin Cities, relocating to the Portland Oregon metropolitan area in 2006. She provides consulting and financial principal services to independent Broker/Dealers, as well as brokerage affiliates of CPA firms, banks, and insurance companies. Her business has grown to include the use of a select group of subcontractors, giving BD Compliance Partners a national presence.

Ms. Degenshein graduated from the University of Florida with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Finance from Georgia State University. Ms. Degenshein maintains her NASD Series 7, 24, 27, 53, and 66 registrations and is approved as an NASD Arbitrator.
